Our Process

Here at ShawTea, we strive to make high-quality milk tea accessible.

How do we ensure this?

Everything we make is handmade. Every weekend, our milk tea is brewed fresh in-house using only the finest natural ingredients. All of our packaging is done by hand, giving it a little extra touch of extra love.

Our process ensures that you receive only the highest-quality products. From the moment you order our products to the moment you pop it open, each step in between is meticulously planned by us and given the utmost care.

Ordering

First, your order is placed! You’ll get a confirmation email with all of your order details, including its estimated delivery date. We brew our products every weekend to maximize quality and freshness, so check out our brewing schedule to see when is the best time to order and when it’ll be shipped out! Orders placed before Thursday night at 11:59pm will be brewed on the following weekend.

Brewing

We start off with getting the water to the perfect temperature so the water won't scald the leaves once they hit the water. From there, we brew the tea for an optimum amount of time to extract the maximum amount of flavor. Since different types of tea brew differently, we also steep each type of tea for a certain duration. Once the tea is brewed perfectly, we strain the tea twice. By doing this, there will be a minimal amount of tea leaves and tea particles in the final product. Next we add in sugar and a milk alternative and then, finally, we stir!

Bottling

All of our packaging is done by hand. The placement of the labels on the bottle might not always look appealing, but it’s what’s on the inside that matters the most.

Shipping

We ship all of our packages via USPS. They are shipped within an insulated shipping liner along with ice packs to keep our products chilled as long as possible. This ensures that they have a nice and safe trip between our place and your fridge!

Receiving and Storing

Our milk tea has arrived safely at your doorstep! You’ll get an email confirming the delivery. Place your milk tea in the fridge as well as any popping boba and jelly (if applicable) as soon as possible. Please note that our ice packs may melt by the time your package arrives, but our products are still good! The ice packs just ensure that they remain as fresh as possible while on the way to your fridge. Go ahead and let them chill in the fridge for a bit- they’re tired and have traveled a long way.
